Hi All, New Lexus owner here and this is my first post on the forum. I recently purchased a pre-owned GS350 F-Sport

2015 GS 350 F SPORT (SILVER/RED) with ML and BSM.
(Non - CPO)
22k miles - 11 months warranty left on the vehicle
Paid 28k + TTL in Dallas TX

Do I need to buy LEXUS warranty? Additionally, what's the best (and inexpensive) way to get a map update?

I bought in February 2017 a CPO 2014 gs350 f sport grey with red Cabernet interior with just under 12k miles for $35k,
got 0.9% financing on it as well.

I've got I think just under 37k miles on it right now.. (I drive too much )

Cool That damn Cold Weather Package though...

I don't recall the price in 2015, but on the 2019s it costs $290 but doesn't include the heated steering wheel.

Some of these features were also available separately, as my F Sport does not have the package but I do have a heated steering wheel and water repellent door glass.

I'm bewildered by the CWP... I spent months searching for my CPO 2015 GS 350 F-Sport AWD... I reeeeally wanted the headlight washers and wiper deicers along with the blind spot monitors. When I finally found one that had the headlight washers and radar sensors on the front bumper I thought I hit the jackpot. I mean, don't get me wrong, I kind of did anyway as the car is virtually spotless inside and out, Florida car with only 25K miles... I was a week into driving it (today actually) when I realized I have the headlight washers but NO water repellant glass or wiper de-icers. I have NO idea why the AWD model doesn't come with the Cold Weather Package as standard! Especially for cars ordered to be delivered to the Northern states. I wanted those features as I drive from Massachusetts to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont in Winter and those options would really be a nice luxury feature. I've looked at dozens of NEW GS listings on local Lexus dealers and it's amazing how few of the GS models have headlight washers. Crazy.

I have a 2019 now, and it has the CWP with the headlight washers and wiper de-icers. It’s a nice package.

Youre sure you don’t have the wiper de-icers?

I can't say I'm 100% certain I don't have them but I did try to go to the settings with the remote touch to turn it on and the windshield defroster symbol they tell you to click was not present. I was quite sad.

I have a '15 with cold weather package and it has everything EXCEPT the headlight washers so it seems they made every possible iteration.

I never understood why Lexus America/CA specced their GS350 so poorly. I've seen the pain in poster's words here trying to find particular options in the one car. In Australia you can only buy the Fsport with everything(only a sunroof option) or the sports luxury (no options). So much simpler when shopping 2nd hand.
There used to be a bogan spec option but it was removed because nobody bought it. Surely a buyer that doesn't want all the fruit just buys the Toyota...

Sounds like you don't, but to be sure, you can see the heating elements at the bottom of the windshield (from the outside). I can take a picture of mine if it will help you.

Cash price for vehicle was $33900 + $3500 for taxes/fees = $37490 OTD - yeah we get raped in Cali on taxes. 2015 F Sport RWD w/NAV, ML, BSM, Park Assist - 15.5K miles purchased Feb 2017 non-CPO private dealer. Seeing how much this car has depreciated in only two short years makes me depressed It's only worth about $23-25K now. Doesn't really matter to me as I always keep my cars for at least a decade or more.

I can relate. The license tabs on my GS were $835 and my sales tax was $6300 (almost 11%), meaning my tax and license were over $7100.

I just bought a 2015 GS350 Luxury Edition 65k. Deep Sea Mica with flaxen interior for 21,250. I think I got a pretty solid deal

Yeah, that's a good price, especially for Lux package.

I think that's nuts man. I even find the 2015 GS brochure difficult to understand as far as what is provided with the Cold Weather package:

2015 GS 350 Packages as shown in the brochure.

My fancy schmancy 2015 GS 350 AWD F-Sport doesn't have the wiper de-icers (DAMN) but our 2008 Toyota HIghlander Sport DOES have them. I did check for the elements under the glass and my suspicions were confirmed. I'm really bummed about that. First world problems I guess.

The salesman who sold me this car told me that Lexus does lots of weird custom configs based on whatever they have for option parts inventory in the assembly plant. In so many words he said they'll cut a package part out and make the car without it if it's backordered for assembly inventory to keep the production line going. He said they'll also throw leftover inventory onto cars not spec'd to have it if they have extra and they're ending a production run or model year change over. Not sure if that's a convenient answer or what. Sounds completely opposite of what I've become used to with the Mazdas I've purchased over the decades. You get specific packages with specific options as part of the packages, and you can count on it having exactly what's listed in the brochure very time.

I figured it had to do with the specific combination of packages my car has which seems rather unique: lux, BSM, AWD, cwp, lka/PCS but I'm not too put off that I don't have the headlight washers. I doubt I'd ever use them.
