How to search CPO with luxury package or ML?
#32
Did you ever get a GS man? I searched from October until 3 weeks ago when I finally snagged a perfect low-mile CPO actually at my local dealer! My wife is glad to have me "back" after having been a little obsessive in my late night Cars.com and Lexus dealer sites. Cars.com was my tip-off for the car I ended up with. The post was brand new, showing a manufacturer pic of the base model but I knew it might be what I had been searching for when I saw "Cabernet" listed as the interior color. Took me a couple days to get the dealer to confirm what color the car was and which options it had. Perserverence pays off!!

I live in the Chicagoland area and GS are abundant and many dealers here are very competitive as a result well priced GS models. There are about 7 Lexus dealers alone within 50 mile radius and tons of great 3rd party dealers too. For example here is a clean 2014 GS Luxury model that meets your needs.

Who would have thunk that a RWD car wouldn’t sell in the dead of winter in the Chicagoland area?

I bought this car with 46K for $22K. 1 owner with black on Flaxen and the car is in phenomenal shape. Lexus of Willowbrook gave it a clean bill of health and said it needed nothing so it was an easy decision.

I saw similar GS's going for $24-28K less then a year ago, still see some similar ones priced in that range when I take a look.

The most effective way for me was to keep the search pretty basic with just the year, mileage, AWD, and the colors I liked, and to quickly scan the thumbnail images on the search results page. Whenever I saw one with silver F-Sport wheels together with fog lights, I'd click on the listing and look through the photos. I did have some luck with "linear espresso" as a search term, although it still brought up a lot of false positives from dealers incorrectly describing the base model trim as linear espresso.
One day I got lucky and this one popped up in Nashville, where I just so happened to be going for a bachelor party that same weekend. It must have been a sign! I bought it with 32K miles for $23,800. I've had it for about a month now, and I love it!
