Default Inform Remote? Flakey?

I just signed up for Enform so I could try it out for a month or two. Is there a way to keep the car running when I unlock the doors? Even when I use the keyfob to unlock it, the car stops and I have to re-start it again. I'm running the app on my Samsung Galaxy and I was trying adjust the app so I don't have to enter a pin every time I start, but there is no save button to retain the settings. Spent an hour on the phone and they said they can recreate my issue, but it will be fixed when the next version of the Android OS comes out. Seriously?

All Lexus/Toyota remote start systems shut off the engine when you open a door. Unfortunately...

it's a Toyota/Lexus thing, has nothing to do with the app.. Toyota's remote start turns off the car when trunk or door is unlocked/opened.. just the way it is.

Bummer. Oh well, I suppose I'll get used to it. Looking forward to warming up the car when it's -20 this winter!

As others have said, this is a Toyota/Lexus thing -- works the same on Camry and RX with OEM remote start using the key fob.

How is Enform remote start? Does it reliably start the car? I've had trouble telling -- is it just $9/mo if all you want is remote start using the phone app?

I can't fathom why the engine would shut off when door / trunk is opened. Isn't the point of remote start is so that engine is warmed up and driver can just get in and drive??

What if a car hijacker decided to open the door and drive off?

It's an annoyance, but the engine will only be shut down for 30 seconds or so as you open the door, get in, and start it back up. It's not like the engine will cool back down in that time.

The remote start won't work unless the doors are locked, so they can't just open the door. I know on my sister's Murano it doesn't shut off when you open the door. Once you unlock the door and get in, you have to press the brake pedal and start button again before it will allow you to take it out of park. So I don't think the Toyota/Lexus way of shutting it off really buys you anything.
