A/C won't switch back to main upper vents after using defrost
2015 GS F Sport, CPO under warranty, wanted to ask here before I went to the dealer
Started the car this morning, A/C was on in it's usual setting of mixed upper/lower vents. I needed to get some fog off the windshield, so I hit the front defrost button, and the air switches to the front defrost. However, when I went to return it to the normal mixed upper/lower vent setting, it refuses to open the upper vent dampers. It will blow air correctly through every other vent position but the upper position. If I switch the A/C to upper vent only, I can hear the fan motor dead heading against what I assume to be shut upper vent dampers (the doors that control the airflow).
Tried turning off the car and restarting. No luck. This is the first time I've used the defrost setting since I've owned the car (approx 3 mo) so I'm wondering if it did fail somehow, or I'm missing something obvious, or there is an easy fix?

Turning on the DEFROST is actually basic and straightforward.
It's actually a little counter intuitive in that to change modes again...rather than press a different mode to change it. you actually press DEFROST again to "turn it off".
It then should default back to the previous mode and activate the normal vents again.
This is the way it works in my daughters CT which is a 2011.
