I never had issues with Akebono pads on any of my BMW's. Good quality pads and pretty much eliminated all brake dust!

Not sure of the exact model/no, but no squeaking and low/no dust with Akebono brake pads on the rear wheels of my GS (front are OEM).

Way less dust than OEM pads, they still squeak but its literally day and night difference when comparing dust between pads.

Have Akebono pads all around on my AWD. No squeaking. Dust is very significantly reduced from OEM pads, but I still get some buildup on the front wheels. I am happy with them.

If you have 2-piece rotors (which you do), they'll squeak on the first stop when cold and then be fine until your rotors hit ambient again. But as others have said, I prefer that single squeak with virtually no brake dust to the mess the OEM pads created. It is, and has always been quite a squeal on my car though so be prepared =) You'll find that if you throw you car in neutral and stop for that first stop, they won't squeal but it will get heat into the rotors/settle whatever's vibrating so on the next stop you'll be fine.

I tried 3 different sets of brake pads.

1. OEM: squeaks.

2. Akebono: less dust but still squeaks.

3. duralast pads: no squeak!

so I'm rolling on duralast pads for years now.

Has anyone tried the performance version of the Akebono Pads? Some Nissan guys were saying its just as quiet with more bite.

I don't have a F-Sport so I have the single piece and get the same squeak on first stop too but it's quick and then quiet until the car sits for a few hours again.

Duralast pads? Could you specify which ones? Seriously cant believe the solution to the squeak problem could be some regular pads as opposed to buying expensive ones to try to get rid of the peoblem 🙄. So tired of the embarrasing squeak of my car and everyone telling me i need my pads changed !

I have Akebono's on the front, had them for about a year now. Love that they don't produce brake dust like the OEM pads, but they are starting to squeak quite severely under cold temperatures and when coming to a stop at ambient temperatures. Even though there is ample life left in the pads, I've ordered another set and plan to install over this holiday break, but this time add some CRC Disc Brake Quiet to the pads to see if that will help.
I wouldn't go back to the OEM pads ever, the amount of brake dust that caked the wheels was very aggravating, especially after just washing the car!
