Can I ride on wheels without TPMS?
So I want to powdercoat my wheels so am buying a different set of wheels to get me through temporarily and want to know is it okay to ride on factory wheels with no sensors? Kindly let me know thank you
Not really for the OP, but others with snow tires. If it really bugs you, ebay has "reconditioned" sets of TPMS sensors for like $70. I've used them on 5 different sets of snow tires now with no problem and a place local to me, dunn tire, will program them for free to the car, even if they aren't the ones who mounted the tires.

Of course, TPMS allows you to monitor individual tire pressure on your infotainment/dash and warns you if one falls under nominal pressure. Without it, the TPMS light comes on and no reading will be shown on the tire pressure display. It does not affect drivability in any way. My current winter setup does not have TPMS.
Not off hand, to be honest I'm not even sure if I get it from the same seller every time. But for an ES350, RX350, two for a GS300, and GS350, each kit has cost from $68-70 with free shipping, come with a kit for each sensor, and a cap. I just pick the highest rated seller.
Actually you don't get the yellow triangle from driving without TPMS. I just swapped over to my winter wheels and the only light that's lit up is the small TPMS light on the right side of the cluster. I don't mind it at all.
On my previous car 2010 Honda Civic EX I took the instrument cluster out, opened it up, and put a piece of electrical tape on the back side of the opening for the TPMS light. The light was still on, but you can't see it, and looks like it never turned on. Problem solved.
I'm currently running no TPMS on my aftermakert wheels and the light does pop up with the digital reading of ---. Its pretty annoying seeing the lights so I would recommend just to get TPMS for safety too.
