Post shifter movement after I park

2014 GS350 w/ 30k miles

Is it normal for the shifter to jolt forward a little than move back into its normal place after I park if the car is on a slight tilted surface?

For example my parking spot at work is on a very small incline so after I put my car in park and release the brake the car moves a little back but since the car is in park it stops but not before the shifter jolts forward a little than back to its original position.

I would park the car then press the ebrake ALL the way without releasing the brake then shift to N and release brake, the car should stop completely before you can put it in P.
When you are about to leave ur parking spot you have to shift the car in R on D(depends on which way u faced parking) before releasing the Ebrake.
That should help you not to have that clunk noise when shifting to D or R after parking on inclined parts or that movement on the shift ****. Hope that helps you

Once you put the car in park, hold the brake until the parking brake fully engages. If you have the parking brake set to engage automatically, it generally takes about 3 seconds after shifting to park to fully engage. This should stop the movement after shifting to park when parking on an incline.

Yea it's normal, I've seen that on my GS a couple times. More like everyday really, since my parking spot is on a slight incline.

Hey guys just reporting back, my car still does this even with the E-brake switch on and holding onto the break until it triggers. I isolated the issue to when the car is in reverse going into park. If I shift from drive to park it does not have this issue even when I am at a incline.

Can one of you check on your next lunch break if this only occurs when shifting from reverse to park? For example if i put my parked car into reverse waited 5 secs than put it back into park this will occur. (at a full stop)

My 2015 GS350 F-Sport (with just over 11K miles) does this too, even with the automatic parking brake enabled, but the shift lever only moves a little bit, its not very dramatic.

I notice the opposite. Just after starting the car, if you just rest your hand on the shifter immediately, you can feel it wobble ever so lightly. It happens before I apply any pressure to shift, so it's not the parking brake.
