Default Mirror Tapping for Radar installation

Hey Guys i am trying to find a wiring diagram on the rear view mirror for a Radar detector installation. I am trying to find out which is the (Switched +12 V) wire and the negative wire. Has anyone installed this and have pics of which wire is what.

GS mirror always gets power, not a good idea basically... I tapped to rain sensor, as many others here. Search for a thread here with detailed info on installation...

I tapped my radar to the raining sensor, the power is from the pink wire and ground is from the black wire on the raining sensor connector

hey.. i used the attached diagram to install my dash cam using the mirror wiring last week.

Took me like 5 mins using Posi-taps.

TIP.. no need to take out the whole overhead/map light piece.. just the front piece is enough to work.

TIP #2: pull down the driver side first.. you'll see what i mean.

Nice, i was thinking to install a dashcam by tapping to the mirror but was not sure which wire to tap. Thanks!

Default 2007 RX 350 Mirror (Where's 12v, Where's Ground?)

I need help wiring a Blend Mount on a 2007 RX 350 Rear View mirror. Even with a multimeter I'm having trouble finding 12v and ground from the mirror plug with 7 slots. The mirror is Auto Dimming & Compass. 4 black lines going in: Slot 1,2 (3 empty) Slots 4,5. Which is 12v when I turn the car on and which one is ground? I've attached a photo. I appreciate any help on this.

You might have better chance asking in the RX section..nonetheless I think this thread answers your question...

What plug are you trying to get at? I just tapped the plugs where the rain sensor hardware is. Are you trying to connect to a always hot wire? If not you'll need the car on with your multimeter or use a tech manual.

I have V1 radar in all of my cars and always run them directly to the obd port with the accessory you can get from valentine. It's been easier for me to remove since I don't keep the cars for long.

yeah, my carlink for carplay works much better now after the last update in the thread. It isn't perfect, but I am not playing with it constantly whilst driving either.

As for the RD. I went with a Uniden R7, I really wanted to update my Redline to the latest one, but not much value in extra spend for it now. V1 gen 2 was on deck, but I prefer the look of this model. It has been great so far as well. Much quieter and I hope the patents for the lawsuit between Escort and Uniden will hasten the auto lockout that was promised for this device. I doubt it though, Valentine had the patent on arrows for the longest time until it ran out.

That's a great spot, if you don't keep vehicles for very long
