Because I personaly had this feature added to my 2010 Lexus RX 350 2 years ago in Vietnam. The guys got the used motor from other cars and add them into the mirror, he also made a switch to one of the empty one in there incase i need to fold or open manually. He did not have to program anything at all. Total cost was $100. Mind you the labor was cheap over there.

I would say it is very similar on GS 350. So i can be done.
Did you just need the mirror base and the correct drivers side armrest control with power folding button to get it to work?

If so I might attempt this mod with one used power folding mirror from eBay and a switch.
If it doesn't work I just return everything for a refund.

I’ve been wondering this since I was shopping for my 350.... I wanted a 2014 for this reason alone, but got too good a deal on my 2013.

There is a very good chance simply installing the switch with power window controls and a 2014+ side mirror will work on our 2013 GS's

I found this thread this guy did exactly just that on his 2010 RX 350
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...010-rx350.html

I compared eBay pictures of the 2013 side mirror plug to the 2014 and they are exactly the same with 16 holes/inputs.
The 2013 has 14 wires
The 2014+ has 16 wires

The two extra wires are related to the power folding side mirror motor, just like in the DIY. Whatever module related to the power folding function is housed within the window switch assembly.

I plan on getting a used 2014+ window switch assembly and a used 2014+ side mirror to test it out, if it doesn't work I just return everything.

Just purchased the window switch.
Also:
1x 2014 driver side mirror
1x 2013 driver side mirror

Goal #1 See if power folding mirrors work.
Goal #2 Find out if it's possible to transfer the internals of the 2014 side mirror to the 2013. If successful you can purchase any 2014+ side mirror in any color and transfer the internals, hard to find one in correct color in good shape.

Gotta love eBay sellers with 30 day returns and no restocking fee.

This is awesome. Keep us posted. I always used my folding mirrors as a visual reminder that the car is locked lol

Good News! The folding mirror works and you can swap the internals.

I'll post a video tomorrow when I put the mirror back on.
I found a 2014 Black driver side mirror on eBay for $180 that was in rough shape externally. My car is silver. Was able to take it apart and swap the base and the upper housing onto the power folding one, took about an hour being careful.
The window switch panel I got on eBay for $65.

Before doing the swap I connected the mirror and confirmed the folding button and the auto buttons work.
Just purchased a drivers side mirror.

The mirrors new are $650 each and the switch is $380 from the dealership. IMO this mod is only worth it if you buy the parts used.

Great effort, peasodos!

Look forward to your video and I will head to eBay for sure. Please list out all the parts you bought and replaced - this will help everyone who is interested in this project, since each of us has different color combo (exterior & interior); mine is blue grey with black interior :-)

Yup, great work peasodos! Given what you've done so far, it looks like on average it'll be around in the 400-500 dollar range in terms of cost to add power folding mirrors to our 2013 models.

Since its a manual addition, I am assuming auto fold is not supported?
Yes Auto folding works. When you click the auto button the green light turns on. When I turn the car off the and I think lock door mirror folds(I forgot exactly). I will have a video of it tomorrow.
I think for 2013 the ones sold in Japan and Europe had auto folding side mirrors. For whatever reason the US market didn't get them. So I guess the computer in the door already has the capability.

Well done. I'm very interested in this mod. Quick question. Would having BSM complicate matters? My car has BSM.

I found the used side mirrors with blind spot monitor. Some don't have it. Other than the motor everything else inside the housing is exactly the same.

In order to get it to work, do you have to buy the mirror with BSM or just a regular mirror that has the motor? Mine has the BSM, so I want to make sure I keep that function.

thx
