Boiling water also works for removing PPF.

Yes, Seems to be the better method, boiling water on a towel:

It's been a couple of months since the ride has seen some suds... finished the day yesterday with a quick wash.

Default 2013 GS350 awd front and rear differential fluid change

I recently hit 100k mi in my 2013 GS350 awd.

I figured front and rear diff fluids couldn’t hurt.

Rear fluid looked incredible: still transparent yellow, only a bit of thick gray paste at the magnet. That fluid could have gone another 50k miles easily.

Front fluid showed more age: darker amber, still quite transparent up close but much darker than the new fluid. Very thin paste at the magnet. Getting at the fill plug in the front is tricky, very hard to get back in with larger hands.

I used gl-5 75w85 for the rear and gl-5 85w90 for the front. Also ordered a set of transmission and diff replacement washers for like $6 on amazon, includes what you need to replace any of them.

Thanks, I like having the width to work within.

I wonder how much stress that area of the car can take; did RR-racing and others take that into consideration when they designed the coilovers?

Also, what are your initial impressions on the coilovers? I've been eyeing these to replace my current set.

I agree with this. In fact, myself and another CL Member were just talking about this the other day. There can be explanation about that's it ok, but that won't change Geometry.

.
If you look at the rear shock tower area in these cars it's built really robust. There's all sorts of extra bracing back there for strength. We've been doing this kit for 5 years and there hasn't been any issue with the structure to date. It's not a point of concern.

The Coilovers Myth, and fact of removing the 2nd Suspension point in the Factory design. When 99% of Coilovers installs are only about ride Height and looks. Requesting a Custom weight would be the answer but plug and play is not. But wait? What weight???? lol!

Went over to a friend's house to install my Borla and aftermarket resonators this past weekend. It sounds awesome.

It was a little late when I left so I couldn't get too rowdy in his neighborhood.

Car sounds great but that garage is sick...is that like a mini-lift for garages?

I wouldn't call it mini, but it's a low-ceiling lift - https://www.bendpak.com/car-lifts/tw...lifts/gp-7lcs/

Yeah, his garage is pretty sick. Six car with the lift, I beam trolley hoist and a mini split. It can be hot and humid AF outside and we're wrenching on the car in a 70 degree garage, it's incredible. I have a couple more pics of it that I took a good while back, so jelly.
