Finally pulled the trigger.
and it's delivered.
Took ten days to make it to Virginia Beach from Seaside, CA. Driver showed up at the closest Target parking lot at 11pm (which was fine with me). His carrier had an old school 65' Ford Mustang (irony) stowed above it. Turns out it leaked some kind of fluid down the right rear quarter. Not much I could do about it but make note of it on the paperwork.

Took her home and hosed her off the next morning. Long and short, she is beautiful but definitely needs paint correction. Clear coat has swirl and there is a couple of noted tiny dings that I was already aware about. I spent a good long time getting the setup knocked out and took it out for inspection and registration. Pretty simply put, I love it. I thought it didn't have ML, but it does so that pretty much completes the trim as it has everything but no Lux so no rear mid-seat control. So, next is tint and CQF. Interior pics coming.

Thank you. Yeah - I'm pretty settled on 30-35% all the way around. Already committed to the CQF, just need to schedule it. I'll be sure to try and document pics as best as possible.
Thanks. I lurked the boards for a while and just did a bunch of internet window shopping (as I'm sure tons do too) until I was narrowed up to a GS 350 FS or 450h and then punched out a day where I "actually" started shopping. This 450h miraculously was basically the first hit I got through a simple Google search via Auto Trader or whatever group advertising agency was holding the listing. Made contact with Lexus of Monterey and started negotiating. They sent me the build sheet and come to find out it had more options than I was expecting (not even noticing they had forgotten to list that it was ML). I'm a tech buff so all the extras like HUD and PCS were right in line with my requirements (L/CPO and 2015). When they came back with a number well-under KBB I squoze the trigger. I had test driven a 16' for measure, but almost bought a plane ticket out to Seaside CA. Lexus of Monterey was good to me and only charged me $500 for the enclosed transport fee cross-country so I'm not too pissed about the 65' Mustang leaking on it...especially knowing I'm having the paint fixed and CQF'd. All in all, it was well worth the wait and patience invested to find the right unicorn. I haven't seen anyone (even on the boards) with a 15' 450h Fsport with all bells & whistles (minus Lux package).
Me either. One step at a time really. I'm pretty patient and like to watch the process of incremental improvement. The tint and CQF can't happen soon enough though.
Thanks.
Thanks. I learned my lesson on black cars in 2007 with a new Tundra CrewMax. Was all black that I de-badged (a must for those years till they started imprinting body panels - stupid Toyota!). Nevertheless, I spent so much time washing, waxing, dusting, spritzing and wiping that I wanted to choke someone out. Virginia has a nasty 2-4 week "pollen season" where every vegetating-blooming-shrub-tree-grass-weed explodes pollen into the air; laying waste through suffocation and literally coating vehicles in seconds after a washing/waxing/cleaning. Black vehicles are already hard to keep, pollen season is pretty much a pointless time to even try.
I told myself that I wasn't going to buy another black car, but then the almighty throws a curve ball like this 450h at me and I was caught between the color and "everything"...color lost and here she is. So, hopefully CQF will help make it easier to maintain through the seasons. The interior is black with the wavy aluminum trim...also hoping for flaxen but in the end, I could give a F.

Welcome to the hybrid club!
Only a handful of us active members here - but we are growing, sure enough! hehe.
Beautiful ride & extremely rare ride that you just bought. I love the F-Sport trim.. I wish they had offered that on the 2013 models back when I was looking for mine. I would love to see more pictures - do you have any of the interior? Do you have a black interior?
Very nicely equipped car too! Please share your opinions on driving car (maybe compare to previous vehicles you've owned?) after you've put some more miles on her.
All the best,

I don't know about the whistling sound bite.

On another note, it turns out L/CPO refinishing neglected to reveal (on paper) that the bumper and one of the rear quarters had been resprayed. I knew this was potentially part of the L/CPO process, but they never divulged that to me and it wasn't on the maintenance records under the VIN of the car. Least of concerns, but I guess you all ought to know, they can do that and not tell you about it.
More pics to follow once it's back.
