Default Rear panel gap - am I crazy

So, while I was detailing my car this weekend, I noticed a small gap on the passenger side rear panel. Right where it meets the taillight.

Am I being too critical or is this something that can be addressed?

Could be that one of the underlying clips broke. I would take it in. They will need to remove the bumper cover, but if something is broken, that should be covered under warranty.

Thank you for the replies!

I will have them take a look at it next time I am in for service. Luckily, it is still under warranty with the L/certified coverage.

Mine looks the same also. Guess I will take it in before the year is up to get looked at. The concern I have is that taking the bumper off and on will 'wear' on the other clips.

Let us know what they do to fix the problem

Anyone else have concern with this?

Its very similar to an old thread here ( https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...e-friends.html ). I had a small gap too when I bought mine CPO. I took it to the dealer and they tried removing and reinstalling which made it worse. They had to order new clips and install it back again. After all that effort, I still have a gap but its slightly smaller than before.

It's an used car, I would expect some imperfections

I agree joedaddy...that's why I came here. I know owners can be a bit unreasonable in their expectations sometimes...so I wanted some more opinions. I appreciate your opinion...thanks!

Lol. They're in pursuit of perfection. Doesn't mean they actually caught up with it.

I would not rely on Carfax to identify if it was in an accident or not. I have seen several cars with clean Carfax which has had thousands of dollars of work done to it including metal work.

On the GS factory bumper, is there a VIN security sticker that is on one of the inner lip edges like on other parts of the car? I know on my old Acura, it had it on the bumper until it had to be replaced due to being rear ended. The new bumper of course did not have it anymore.

So what do you guys think? Leave it? Or have Lexus work on it and risk loosening it up on the other side?
