I have the Escort 9500ix and love it. While it's not the most expensive unit out there, it provides a great value and gives me everything that I was interested in.
I installed it using a MirrorTap (uses power from your rear view mirror) following the instructions/pictures posted by mso4 here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ml#post7726444
You may have to do research & read reviews on what features you're after in a radar. Without a budget, it's a bit hard to recommend something.. there is a big range in radar prices.
Laser detectors are legal in my state - you may want to check into that for your state as well. All the best.

I plan on spending $200-300 tops on the detector, although I may push it off until summer and splurge more at that time.
