My wife spilled some Coke onto the center console and now the Drive mode select sticks and when its freezing outside the switch becomes frozen. Anyone with step by step instructions can chime in? I want to clean it out.

 

Ugh, I have a sticky menu button due to an iced tea accident by a friend. I feel your pain.

 

I used some Radio Shack electronics cleaner on my map button. It had only a slight stick. Just be delicate with the button after you spray it because I caused the plastic to shatter (on my old iPod shuffle) after being too rough immediately after I sprayed it.

 

1. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL - PULL STRAIGHT OUT (Around the radio and start switch)

2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH AND RH (side panels of center console. Pry where circled then pull straight back)


3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER **** SUB-ASSEMBLY (Pull down on leather boot then unscrew shift ****)

4. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL (There are 2 10mm bolts on the left side. Remove these first)

Hopefully this helps. I removed mine about 5 times trying to fix a rattle.
