Default Help with simple functions

So the Lexus system is pretty confusing especially coming from a BMW where idrive was so simple.

I can't even find a way to get the NAV to come up without needing to put a destination in. Had to YouTube how to store my seat setting on the memory seat function lol..btw this is coming from a very comp/technology savvy individual.

Is there some sort of quick guide or something because I feel completely lost using this thing.

I also noticed it's pretty dark inside at night...BMWs have that small night light type of thing inside that is barely noticeable but does wonders.

I had to YouTube how to reset the mpg bc it wasn't via the Lexus system (what is it called by the way, just navi?)

Also, it really REALLY need a back button. Still learning been in it for only 30 min so far but any pointers? Or cool things I may not know of?

I would advice calling your dealership and setting up a meeting with the technology specialist. Every dealer should have at least one. They come in and show you the basics from operating nav to pairing your phone. And it's free!

I'm surprised you're having a hard time since the Lexus Remote Touch system is one of the easiest, but it could be just because its new to you.

To get the map to come up without setting destination, just hit the Map button in front of the controller. If you have a 2015, you can use voice (button located on steering wheel on right side) to cancel route guidance. If 2013-2014, you'll need to hit Menu button, click on Destination, then delete destination.

Idk if you were joking about setting the seat memory, but it's the same as any other car where you press M and the number.

If you think the interior is dark, check to see if your headlights are in the AUTO position on the turn signal stalk. You can increase brightness of interior/gauges by button behind turn signal stalk, below gauge cluster.

To reset mpg in center gauge display, hit DISP (on steering wheel) until you get to the Average MPG page. Then hold DISP until you see 0.0 mpg.

No back button on 2013-2015 models, but the refreshed 2016 model will have it.

Cool features:
-Feeling lazy about entering or finding address, use Destination Assist to help you. A live person will do a search for you and send it to your navigation. Free for the first year if you bought new or CPO.
-Setup Enform account and install app on your phone for additional features on your car (Pandora, Slacker, Bing, Yelp, and more). For 2015 models, you can also download Enform Remote on your phone to do things like remote start, lock/unlock, check status, check location, set certain alerts for car.
-I could go on and on...but this post would be way too long.

Since you are a previous BMW owner, I assume you don't know about the Lexus Tech Specialist at the dealership who, by appointment and free of charge, will go through all the features on the car with you.

Congrats on the car!

Shocked that you say iDrive is simpler than the Lexus software. I always hear iDrive has a steep learning curve.

Had the salesman show me how to do everything in the car the night I bought it. Should definitely schedule something with them so that they can give you the rundown and answer all of your questions.

Theres also a thread on here about "hidden features" that will definitely have a few gems that youll love

So I spent some time in the car and a few things I managed to pick up...

Page 2 of settings doesn't work unless you are at a dead stop which now allowed me to find more features as I thought that was only for dealer tech access.

I adjusted the mouse which helped a great deal because the middle setting was just way to jumpy for me.

A few things..

1)does the 15' F Sport come with auto folding mirrors or I do it by hand only?

2) when putting it in R, is it possible to have it so the driver mirror does not aim down but only the passenger one?

3) I also heard u can turn the engine on and AC by just the remote..is that true? For summer days and all.. Or cold days to have the car heat up.

4) is the HD radio automatic depending on the station or I have to look for the HD version or does it make every station HD?

Congrats on the car!
For seat memory the issue I had was apparently I had to hold the set button and the number at the same time to program. With most cars I would just hit set than the number. So figured it was the same process.

I was going to ask, do u guys use the enform app? Seen it, looks awesome.

1) Yes it has power and auto folding mirrors. Just have the auto button selected on the upper part of your mirror controls. They will fold automatically when you lock the car.

2) Yes, just put your car in reverse and adjust the mirrors to your liking. I think you need to program it to remember, so out it in park and save it in your seat memory settings. Now it'll remember how you want the mirrors to tilt when reversing.

3) You can, but you need to activate your Enform Remote account. If you haven't set it up yet or entered the activation code the dealer had Lexus send to you, then you will have to request a new one by pressing the SOS button on the roof controls. Install the app and register it to your car. It may take a few days for it to work, but once it's activate it will work great. You can use the Enform Remote app to start the car, or you can use the remote by pressing lock 3 times and hold the last one until you see the hazards flash. These features are free for the first year since they require data connection through Safety Connect; it'll be $249.99 per year after your trial.

4) If you have the HD radio option selected, then it will make regular FM stations HD when there is signal. Depends what station you are looking for too. If you're looking for the alternative station to the main FM channel, then you'll have to select that small box with little numbers in it and select the number. For example, in LA 102.7-1 is KIIS FM with pop music while 102.7-2 is KIIS-HD with EDM.

Hope this helps!

sorry, but i'm going to hijack your thread and sneak in a question. when you're at the bottom radio station and hit down on the steering wheel control, is there a way to make it loop back to the top and not go to the next set of 6 stations?

You can change the limit number of presets in settings.

Um I don't have an auto button. U mean mirror controls on the driver side door correct? Because it isn't there.

You must have a 2013 then...therefore your mirrors don't have power folding (added on 2014 and 2015 models). Also, you can't use Enform Remote app (added on 2015) so you won't be able to do remote start unless you go the aftermarket route or having your dealer install RES.
