I suppose I don't understand the need to protect a car key with a leather or rubber glove or cover

Protect it from scratches and drops? Its a car key...not a smartphone

I use the glove because it recesses the buttons. Less likely to accidentally activate in my pockets when I'm doing stuff. You should see Infiniti's keys, they are the worst in accidental activations due to the pill shape.

The key fob for my Jeep was like that, if you crouched down it would set the alarm off, every time.

Never had that issue with the Lexus keys though.

It's not a Smartphone, it's a Smartkey.

Anyone purchased a replacement fob from Lexus recently? Not inexpensive. Any protection is better than nothing.

Wonder what your original owner did with yours? Still twirling it around at the bar? By the way, I used to see these for sale all the time on ebay. Not all that pricey if you want a set.

I've been carrying smart keys for 11 years...been carrying remote style keys and fobs for years longer than that. Never had a key become damaged.

Actually that sounds perfect... You've got two gloves you're not going to use and mistatran is in need of two. Sounds like a PM is in order.

Unless they're FSport only.
