Default Bluetooth Firmware updates Issues

Hi All,

Anyone experiencing Bluetooth connectivity issue with 2013 GS350 F Sport?

Well, before I took the car in for services. I ask the Consultant to check out the Nav update for me. Maps only a yrs old so no need to update. But he says the firmware was out dated. So, they're updates to the new firmware.

I had the car back since Friday, but since then my phone connect n disconnect almost every 10-15mins.

Look like another trip back to the dealer.

Just want to know if anyone experience with the same issue.

Thanhs

I haven't been into the dealer or had any updates that I know of, but last night I hopped into my car (without my Iphone 6) and for some reason I was automatically on a private call. That one was an easy fix, I simply hung up. When I got back home and left for work (I had my phone) once again the display showed a private call. This time I could not disconnect from the call or hang up. I had to shut off my phone to disconnect the call. The phone reconnected after I restarted it. I brought my wife's car to work tonight. I am curious to see if it happens next time. If so, I will ask my buddy (product specialist) at my Lexus dealer.

This is why I don't fix if it ain't broke. I don't mind my firmware being 10 yrs old as long as it's working, cause sometimes new firmwares have their own glitches that haven't been worked out yet.

I have no problem with mine and I have iPhone and Samsung Note Edge and Samsung Gear S. My Bluetooth works fine with the iPhone and Note Edge but it's a little wonky with my Gear S. Sometimes I have to restart the Gear S to get it to reconnect to my car, but I think it's the Gear's Tizen firmware that is not as good as Android and iOS yet.

I had BT issues with my Samsung Galaxy S4. Tried everything to get it fixed, even opened a ticket with Verizon and Samsung. In the end what fixed it was deleting old text messages. I'm not sure what the threshold is but I set my texting app to delete messages over 300. Since then no BT issues.

I might have to try that with my old S3 lol. For the past month I've been having issues with the BT disconnecting multiple times on a daily basis for just a 20 min drive to work

You need to save 500+ text?! Trying to blackmail someone? Lol use a text back up app that will back sms to Gmail or something. Then you can delete the text messages

you can back up the text and then delete them. Only reason I have so much text myself is because I only text; totally avoid talking; I like they yes and no kinda chitchat

And as far as firmware, the last time I updated it, my nav booted up much slower. ( I wished they can just pair us with the 2014's )

Hi,

Well, deleting all the texts wont solve the issue. Because my wife phone got Zero text and it does the same. So, x-amount of text doesn't create the connectivity problem.

btw.. i didnt asked the dealer to update the firmware. i only asked them to check out my Nav maps to see if it updated. That's it. But theyre went and update my firmware.

Prior the firmware updates, i do have 450+ texts too.... so x-amount of text doesnt create connectivity issue via bluetooth.

LOL.. No blackmail here.. shmmmm..

I had a similar problem before and one of the fellas here recommended turning off text support on your phone's bluetooth settings (or in the nav -- can't remember which). Worked for me and no problems since. Car doesn't read text messages now, but the voice only annoyed me anyway.

Have not had any updates to the car. However the iPhone 6 and the car seem to have a mind of its own!

Music will start playing in the car, without me initiating.
Phone blue tooth and USB stick or other source will be playing together with both streams playing over the cars speakers.
Phone will be sitting in the house when I park in the garage, come in the house and music will be playing on the phone.
Car won't answer a call at times. This appears to be an issue when I'm within range of my internet providers hotspots which are everywhere in our city.

No disconnect/reconnects though.

All in all strange issues!

On a 2013 X5 I was able to update the Bluetooth software via a thumb drive, can I do the same thing on the GS? Is there a web portal where I can plug in my VIN and have it give me the correct file or do I have to go to the dealer?

I had the same issue with the Galaxy S4 connecting and disconnecting. It only happened after I updated the software on my phone. I lived with this for a couple of months, until yet another update came out for the S4. Then my bluetooth worked just fine!

Now I have a Note 3! (galaxy broke, insurance only had note 3's available) I got my Galaxy Note 3 brand new, and used it in the car without issue, until I opted to update. Then the problem began.

When I start my car, I am automatically put on a private call. Right now, I just start a phone call to my voicemail and end it before it even connects. This ends the phone call on my bluetooth.

I love this car. but the bluetooth issues are just out of control.
