Agreed, I probably wasn't clear.

No problem with a detailer that just does washes.

Big problem with a "detailer" that works a a place where carwashes are the main business.

For sure! A lot of detailers I know use washes to get a customer in the door, then they can show them what they can do for their cars.

I second for VIVE Detailing. Does great work. Did my wife's Rx350--Obsidian within 2 weeks of ownership...PAINT CORRECTION & OPTI-COAT. does work on a lot of high end vehicles, so work is very reputable. good luck.

Do you have any recommendations for NY? Specifically Long Island or NYC?

I used and highly recommend Bryan (Mr. Sparkle Detailing in West Babylon). For my '14 GS, he did a new car prep (wash, decon, polish) and opti-coat pro. I posted some pics in this thread. He also recently got certified by Xpel and is all set up to do Xpel ultimate installs, and I had him put the film on my front bumper as I was getting a crazy amount of rock chips. Very happy with his work, and hes a decent guy too.

I've seen some work done by Phil and his crew at Detailers Domain (I think they're in Norwood NJ) and it is top notch as well.
