Everyone gets this from all dealers at some point in time. It's a pure marketing scam that started in the mid 90's. Don't waste your time thinking there's anything above and beyond the normal end of model year closeouts and factory incentives. Used car inventories run very consistant thanks to auctions (where most used cars come from). So there's rarely ever a shortage of anything unless a national natural disaster has occurred.
Also, always be aware 99.9% of the time they offer more for a trade, they are cutting into your deal on the new car. Nothing is ever extra or free, as all dealers follow the same protocol in the industry for margins and profits.

Ditto.

I've gotten the above from Honda, Acura, BMW, and Infiniti dealers. Interestingly never got one from GM.

One time I even got something similar from a local real estate agent. Saying there is a shortage of homes and whether I'm interested in selling. Another actually said a couple is interested in my house would I consider selling.

This is a little different. I'm in the real estate business myself, and there really is a shortage of inventory depending on the market you're in and the location making this a good time to sell if you're thinking about it. We also have sent letters before when we have buyers looking in a specific neighborhood and theres nothing available, and have sold houses from those letters without the seller ever having to list or pay a full commission. The seller has all the bargaining power in this situation and they typically wind up doing very well.

Certainly not everybody has the integrity we have, but its very possible there really was a buyer looking for a house like yours. Sending a letter like that as a real estate agent when that isn't actually true is actually illegal. People do call and test those things so sending out a fraudulent letter is a big risk.

Any update to Enform? It would be nice to see the XM preset name not just the station #.

Interesting but pure speculation until Lexus gets official. Thanks for posting that though.

I would say MotorTrend is a pretty official source. I can't remember a time when something posted in that issue was wrong.

What's wrong with you, Lexus? Same old wine (engine) with a new bottle (8A transmission).

What were you expecting or wanting for an engine?

This (8AT) would make it worthwhile to wait for 2014, IMO.

+1. It was their Mid 40 Crisis article that lead me to the 4GS. I doubt that they would print unverified information.
