Default Black box installed for my GS

I got the BlackVue DR-500GW blackbox installed on the windshield today, hard wire to a UPC (uninterrupted power control) to supply when park and will cut off the power if battery voltage below 12V. The video quality is very good at day and acceptable at night.

The camera angle and video record can be view thought a smart phone without taking off the memory card or connect to a PC. The Goggle map location and vehicle speed also display.

It's a peace of mind when knowing I always have video evidence for hit and run or insurance fraud. Will get one for the back windshield.

That's a clean set up! Would it be too much of a bother if you posted some driving videos so we can see the quality? Pretty please.

Wow!! Wouldn't placing a $350 camera in plain view creating more problems than solving them? Or is Oregon still the wild west?

Does it cover the sides?

Is it low light sensitive?

Very clean install! I know cameras like this are mandatory in Russia and some other places, definitely not a bad idea and a great thing to have!

Hi bro i have 1 installed too... But from what i see, your camera is a little off centre? The lens has to be in the middle, instead of the holder...

Little encounter i captured with my BlackVue DR-500GW car camera . playback is recorded in full HD 1080P 30fps, much clearer with the Blackvue HD player, & u there is lot of features like zooming in of front vehicle number plate etc... Wide angle of 156 degrees, widest in the market i think!. Best is the WIF feature is that you can view recorded videos straight from your Android or Iphone phones with the downloaded Blackvue android apps. Saving you the trouble of removing the mirco sd card to view on your PC with a card reader, & a Live view feature to view live footage, very handy when used for installation. Can view & adjust the angle accurately without having to remove SDcard & view the adjustment u made... Place your hand near the left side of the BlackVue DR-500GW to turn on/off audio recording.

LED indication
Smartphone dedicated viewer, Blackvue application
Real time video monitoring with video out
Wehicle and traffic monitoring- the built-in high sensitive gps records the vehicle speed and status information, which can be sinchrinized with google maps to display driving path. The driving-path based video search software, MyWay Viewer provides the index system that You can use to trace back the location of accident

If you don't look for it you won't know it exist. At nighttime, it barely visible even you look for it.

Very easy to remove from the windshield but you will lose the advantage of recording while parking outside.

One of the highest unemployment rate in the nation, high crime rate make driving the 4GS here draw quite a bit of attention, also some people on this forum had their GS hit and run at parking lot. Chance are high for 4GS's owners if someone looking for insurance fraud's target.

The wide angle len cover 156" diagonal so pretty much from left to right A pillar.

Parking lot with street light video quality is usable. Video coming soon.

I got the LKA on my 4GS so need to keep the right side area clear for the camera hidden up there. The wide angle len still cover the whole thing.
