Default Sidemirror Cracked

I noticed today that my driver-side mirror had about an inch crack. It was on the lower outer-part of the mirror. Started from the plastic frame surround and going vertically an inch.

Anyone had a similar issue? Nothing hit the mirror and I've only driven the car for about 300 miles.

take it back... don't take a chance on the crack getting worse.

Your right they probably will, although I would have thought that to crack the glass in the wing mirror it would off had to be hit pretty hard witch I would have thought would have left some damage to the casing itself, so if your mirror is in perfect condition I cant see how they can use that excuse.

This is very interesting, same thing happened to my passenger mirror when I bought the car. Took it back to dealer to only have them say I broke it... Long story short, they took the blame and replaced the mirror cover for me.

Well, I think it was caused by the auto tilt-down when in reverse. Right before that crack appeared last week, I heard a loud popping noise while I was backing up and noticed that it was the mirror tilting down and popping right back up. So, I disabled that feature since then, Afterwards, I noticed the crack. It could have been from that snapping motion? I'm bringing it to dealer this morning.

And no, there is no visible damage anywhere on the mirror casing. Even the crack itself is in an inner layer. Can't feel any of the crack when you touch it.

Dealer ordered replacement mirror under warranty. They said it looks like the heating element burned thru. I thought it was a crack.
