Default Just Got a Couple Things Done.

I finally got the front protective film installed on my car and also got the rear bumper applique installed as well. I also let them do the trunk TSIB and the trunk handle recall. As someone stated the recall gives you a free tank of gas, so make sure you bring it in with less than half so they can fill it up. The trunk does feel heavier than before and it does swing up like crazy, but I don't think it solved anything as it's still hard to close. The handle looks to be a little more thicker in the backing that's about it. Last does anyone know what those straps are for, the ones I'm using to hold my umbrella as I think that's what it's for but still not sure. Here are all the pics.

Here is what I'm talking about where the umbrella is.

damn, i didn't even know those straps were there, i see you put them to good use. my umbrella is just rolling around in my trunk... i know what i'm going to do today. BTW, your film edges should be tucked. i think the film they (lexus) use is pre-cut, but you should not be able to see the edges. Phil had to remove the same film from a NG F Sport for the same reason... and he reinstalled the film with edges tucked. i wanted the RBA but decided to wait. your car looks extra with the DG wheels they blend nicely with the LP. what do you notice different about the Interior trunk release? your trunk still flies up when you open it, and it's still hard to close? play with it a few times it should adjust, i did that when the TSB was done, it didn't fly open anymore but it was tricky to close... now it's fine, no probs closing at all.

I will try to play with it and see if it changes, and not sure why they aren't tucked but that's the venture shield way they do it, they customize mine because I didn't want them to go over the vinyl in the middle. I have had a protector where it is tucked, I will call my service rep Monday and ask about it though.

should have then redo this for you, not all places wrap it around the edge but it should at least be lined with the edge. Too much open area **** to a rock chip.

Looking good

The straps are use to secure the triangle breakdown sign. The triangle breakdown sign is in a rectangular black box & it should come with your car.

I saw a car in the showroom with the paint film that looked just like that it turned me off from getting it

I have the same film installed. I think it looks awful, I even started a thread on how to remove it...... You lucky you have LP, on a darker color car it looks even worse. I will be removing mine this summer

Yeah when I contacted my service rep he said that's the way it comes. I will try to contact him tomorrow and see what they can do about folding in the edges.

yeah, i think they are pre-cut according to which lexus they are applying it to. what i do is find out who did the work and get the address, and i pay them a visit myself. i just tell the GM to let them know i'm on my way and i can be more hands on and actually stand there while they're doing it as opposed to lexus where you sit in the waiting room and have a Latte with a chicken wrap or salad...
