Trunk TSB Done...
have no clue as to what they did, i got distracted and started cussing and acting uncivilized. there is a new service director and obviously he has no people skills. i have a short temper and he found out after his first 5 words. he called the GM and was told that Mr. Harley is a very, very good customer... give him what he wants. back to the trunk...

one hinge is obviously thicker than the other. i don't remember if it was always that way or are they new hinges. you can tell they put forth an effort on the TSB. some may like it and some may not and some may even say WTF... the trunk no longer flies up when you open and let go. it opens slowly as if it were motorized, however if you open just a little and let go "WATCH YOUR FINGERS" the trunk will close without you touching it. it closes on it's own now without any help from you... use the handle and pull down,
and it will close... FAST. it slams itself." DON'T LET YOUR KIDS CLOSE YOUR TRUNK" and tell wifey to be careful when closing the trunk. i did a vid but it sucks, so i'll try again. i think a vid would be better than my trying to explain because i don't think i'm doing a good job. anyway, it's different not the old trunk slamming anymore. it's as though they put a weight on top of the trunk because the downward force is strange... not violent but enough to be concerned for 1 or 2 of your fingers if you're not paying attention. BTW the bags in the trunk are MF towels... a lot of them.

Sounds like it still "slams" if you're concerned about your fingers...I don't care about how fast or slow it opens, but just didn't like slamming the trunk. If you had a choice, would you go through with the fix a 2nd time?

actually the 2nd time i played with the trunk it seemed to close even slower. i'd just be concerned about a child closing the trunk. yes, i would do the fix again.
S,
Your trunk looks too busy. Got to save some room for your wife and kid's stuff
Mine seems to close fine awhile back. I open/close the trunk at least three times a day so I guess that helped.
It closes fairly smooth and easy now. I don't know if I want to get this TSB done at 5K service.
Any non-F had this TSB done?

. 3 bags of clean MF towels don't take up much room. if the wife and kids need room in the trunk they can by their own car

.
at the end of the day i got what i wanted... courtesy of the GM. he's new, he didn't know... but he does now
I had the TSB performed on my non-F Sport model. The four rubber bumpers on the bottom edge of the trunk lid were replaced. I find the fix to be worthless. If there is a difference it is incredibly minor.
Now I want it done now, I hate waiting. I love the fact it basically closes itself they must have added the weight to let it close itself, still miss the soft close though. I would have taken a pic but its too cold and I just covered my car for the storm, even though its in a garage!
