Finally did the change! Looks way better and much brighter. Easier than I thought. Definitely a nice, simple custom touch. Only took about 20 mins for the first one. Then 10 mins for the second one. Tip for those wanting to give it a try, pull hard on the mirror to release clips. Also, test it before reassembling. Lastly, make sure all the black plastic is fitting flushed with the painted part before screwing it back together.

I swear, I thought I was going to break the dang glass. That was scary. But I got it done. The best thing to do is put your fingers in the bottom of the mirror and lift up so that the tab would break loose. It is better than trying to pull the tab down. You do need some force to break the tab loose though. It took me 45 minutes to get the driver side done. On the passenger side, it took me 10 minutes. I want to thank all of the members that put this sticky out there. It did help me a lot.

this is great. How would you install w/o taking out the mirror?

I think he's referring to the longevity of the bulbs. Mirrors still have to be opened unfortunately.

will this tab or glass itself ever break if not pulled properly?
I've tried to pull the glass out few times... it wouldn't move at all. gave up after few tries.

No, I don't think you have to worry about the tabs breaking or the glass for that matter. You have to just go ***** to the wall and pull it lol. Trust me, it takes one hell of a tug to get it off.

Can you post a pic of how the light looks now in the trunk? I don't recall anyone posting a pic of how much brighter the trunk light is after replacing the bulb

I got the Sylvania from AutoZone: 168/194/2825

Made a huge difference in the trunk and will eventually replace the puddles too
