Good call I would check the trunk shocks as well just to see if anything is different.

I'm no expert, but to me the part #'s look identical? The GS trunk is more complex looking though...

Base on Sewell Parts it will cost around $1500 for the 4GS power trunk parts (lock assembly & motor).

Anyone willing give it a try and post the result?

When looking at Hyundai Equus, the standard version (Signature @$59,250) has no power trunk! The Ultimate, the limo version, does have the option. Asked the dealer about parts and labor to install power trunk in the Signature and was quoted $7,000. Coincidentally, this is the price difference between the two trim levels. Think he was trying to tell me something?

IMHO its not really lazy its just bragging rights to say I have it and its a cool feature, I loved the soft close trunk on my old GS and wish they kept it on this cause now I gotta slam it every time and now I hear the license plate rattle. The more the better I say.

I'm 100% with you!

I mean...you spend $61,000 plus on a car in a segment where every other vehicle in its class offers a power trunk and we get the trunk lid off from a 1991 Nissan Sentra...Come on LEXUS????

I owned a 1994.5 Nissan Sentra and its trunk lid was easier to close.

Amen. I never thought anyone would make a big deal of this non feature on a car. I go into my trunk 1x/month if lucky in my current car. Ive never had a power trunk and don't even have it on my list of wants/needs when looking for a car. Now, my wifes Honda Odyssey has one but for her it is great. She's shorter, uses the back of the van a lot and when she does her hands can be full. Griep over something meaningful like wanting a more powerful engine.

If I wanted more power I’d just wait for the GS-F!!!

I purchased a GS350 AWD Luxury...and the key word there is "LUXURY"!

That's all I'm asking for...I'm constantly in and out of my trunk and honestly if it closed without the most God-awful "clunk" sound, I'd probably not be so pissed off at it. Actually in all honesty if I would have closed the trunk before I purchased the car...I just might not have done so.

If one is too concerned about the trunk, s/he can just get the stuff out through the back seat. Seriously though, it bugged me at the beginning because I really had to slam it but it got better over time and now it closes pretty easy and quiet. I don't have to use as much force. It's sure nice to have a closing button but this is a sedan not a van or suv, how much of a difference does it make? Most of drivers are guys anyway. Does it make one look more cool to be able to close with a button? I just don't see it. If you want to brag about the "luxury" you can brag about your 18 way adjustable seats. But then a lot of people don't really need all those 18 ways, do they? I just don't see how the closing button would make the car more luxurious.

No power trunk, or power mirrors really bugs me! Especially since I know they have those options on the same model as my car in different regions.

This is wat really makes me rant about wanting these items cause they were on the gs before and also other regions are getting and we are getting shafted.

I agree, the trunk feels crappy. No reason ANYTHING about a $60,000 car should feel crappy.

Its not the end of the world, but its there.
