AWD or RWD?

Just want to get some input from everyone.

Do you think it's worthwhile to get an AWD?
An AWD with F Sport package and performance tires still will not work in snow. One would still need to get winter tires anyway.

We get plenty of snow in Iowa City and I'm debating between AWD vs RWD. I was leaning towards AWD until I saw how big a gap the AWD has in the wheel well. The ride height is like a truck! If the F Sport lowering spring will become available for the AWD then the problem is solved, but I don't think this is confirmed.

What do you all think? AWD or RWD?

Thanks!

I have an AWD F-Sport model and I'm waiting for springs to come out. I live in MN so I need AWD.

All my past rides were lowered so I'm chomping at the bit just like everyone else is here.

AWD FTW!

You can always trim your stock springs in the meantime.

Safety vs. style? Safety wins every single time. If Lowering springs aren't out in December then maybe January or February, etc... Snow and just overall bad weather conditions will still come to your part of the country year after year. I vote AWD. I live in NYC and AWD isn't even a question. Obviously 3 feet of snow and no matter what sedan I have I ain't going anywhere, however, In light snow and wet and slippery conditions it is that much better.

I'm leaning towards AWD also.

Does any one know whether the lowering spring will be made available to the AWD model?

I go with AWD for winter and play with my RWD for summer. For sure there will be lowering springs without a doubt for AWD. so dont worry about that if f sport dont have, there will always be another company that will produce them. Im from Toronto Canada and to be honest you need AWD for safty. RWD you got to be on guard 24/7

I'm in the North East so AWD was a no brainer for me.

In southern Arizona, RWD is also a no brainer.

Understandable becuase you live in a place without snow. The OP lives in a snowy place so honestly AWD is a must. Wish i didnt get snow in canada or RWD is my main priorities noting more fun then kicking the rear end out when you want to.

I would ever RWD but you can't get them here, even the LS really only comes in AWD around here now.

Ive got the Jeep, so I don't need the Lexus to be AWD.

Lexus has a copyright, now calling it "ALL WEATHER DRIVE".

Totally don't understand that position. Audi is certainly not the be all and end all to AWD.
