I still can't figure it out. I downloaded hand cent SMS and now get copies of all emails. How do you deactivate standard SMS? When i uninstalled handcent the message function is no longer highlighted. Before it was highlighted but would give an error message when trying to download messages. Has anyone else been able to get it to work after following rexus 300's instructions? Thanks

Go to handcent sms and select settings -> application settings -> Default Messaging application -> disable. When you re-pair the phone after upgrading to ICS, you will be asked to select MAP and PAB (phone book) option once the phone is paired to the car for longer than 5-10 seconds. I can receive messages but I cannot reply to the messages so I am figuring that step out.

Also, loaded Lexus Enform applications, the apps work fine with the phone.

I unpaired and repaired the phone. At one point it would show the message icon, but would not transfer or receive new messages. I read through the Lexus owner’s manual, Lexus website (list as a compatible phone), but can't find any specific help on the messaging.

Anyone know a solution? My wife also has a Droid 2, same issue, phone connects, no messaging.
I have the 2013 GS 350 F-Sport, Lexus Bluetooth web site shows my Droid razr maxx hd will do text & email, when the phone is paired with the car the message icon is highlighted, I click on it & it allows the system to read text & email out loud , as long as I don't shut the car off it works however once I turn it off it's over ! I have to remove it it from the cars system, on the phone I have to press down volume & power ( battery can't be removed on this phone ) to reset phone, pair it with car and it works one time as mentioned above .. Lexus hasn't an answer so far as to why, I have tried a new phone, same thing..
