Just more speculation. We now know the 4GS won't be out until 2012 as a 2013MY so it's unlikely that Lexus will release the GSF that same year anyway.

Next.

Have you tried the Lexus mouse interface, or at least for a couple of days, not just in the showroom. The reason I say this is because I had an 08 GS350 for 3 years, recently switched to the HS250 with the mouse interface. The first couple of days, I wasn't very comfortable with it. Even my previous car, had a touchscreen, I thought the mouse was a dud, but after a couple of days, the mouse is so much faster and easier to use. You need to take your eyes off the road less but the main thing is because its a mouse, you put your hand there at rest and just move your fingers about a inch or two and click with your thumb. Much less movement and it becomes 2nd nature since we all use a mouse on our computers. I'm hoping Lexus stays with the mouse of years to come. It's a much better and faster interface. And no more finger smudges all over the screen.

Default E63, M5, or New 2012 GS-F

Found this article on the new GS-F. Interested to see what you guys think about the car. would you pick it over E63 or M5?

The F-sports department of Lexus has lately been getting some criticism. With the introduction of the Lexus IS-F that was hyped up to very high levels but then performed mediocre compared to the BMW M3, the Mercedes-Benz C63, and the Audi RS4. Now Lexus has another chance to redeem itself. Say hello to the Lexus GS-F.

Rumored to be release in early 2012, the Lexus GS-F would be the direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz E63 and the BMW M5.
heres the rest of the article and some pics

Default What is to become of 4GS?

Just saw this in Motortrend megazine. This 4GS F is to come out as early as early part of 2012, and is said to cost around $90K to $10K. This should give us good idea of what the entire 4GS line will look like. Imo, it looks too much like current IS, but that's just me...

Price range is ok-ish, but not with 465hp. F'k that.

I hope it doesn't look like that.

This doesn't really look like a valid rendering of what a 4GS will look like. It appears to be a just a photoshopped 3GS with a strange body kit and rear spoiler.

Are you taking this pic seriously?

If so, I have a business proposition for you.

I'm wondering why there are so many GS-F threads and posts today. Is Lexus datamining on forums?

Anyways, how could we pick it over anything when we don't know what it looks like, how it performs, what comes with it, price, etc...? You are asking about a car that doesn't exist. All we have is pure speculation at this time, so I don't see how anyone but a Lexus fanboy could give any kind of qualified opinion.

Cars of these nature need bragging rights.

The GS-F, if produced, needs a minimum of 500 horsepower. 500, 510, 518 just to match the BMW, Jag, and Benz respectively. And we know that the new BMW M5 is about to come out, most likely with far greater numbers.

And that's gonna be a tough job. Nothing other than the LF-A has ever produced such numbers.

Another source claimed 465 HP and 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds.

That's not even close to being enough to adequately compete with the likes of the F10 M5 and E63 AMG.

Not...even..close.

The BMW M5 is quicker in a straight line than the M3.
The E63 AMG is comparable in a straight line to the C63 AMG.
The GS-F is going to be...slower?...than the IS-F?

I don't understand the rationale.

And before anyone blasts me for harping on 0 to 60 times, yes I know 0 to 60 times aren't everything but there is a limit and generally speaking 0 to 60 times usually correlate well with performance beyond the 0 to 60 range. In that regard, 0 to 60 times are useful to try and gauge how a car will perform overall.

Thankfully, all of this (even the 465 HP I'm assuming) is speculation.

Hypothetically speaking though, if Lexus released a GS-F with 465 HP that went 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and was generally slower than the ISF all for $90k-$100K, that's just a recipe for failure.

I highly doubt that article is even remotely accurate to what we'll actually see in the future. Again, thank goodness it's purely speculation.
