I noticed some smoke coming from oil dripping onto the hot manifold on the driver-side engine bay. I suspect it's the valve cover gasket. Does anyone have the Lexus procedure for replacement? The car only has 50K on the dash, but sat for 2 years. I am considering replacing spark plugs and general throttle body cleaning while I'm in there, so any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Gasket is cheap. Change spark plugs while you're at it. I did mine about 2 years ago. I paid someone to do it and they had to take out the intake manifold. You could DIY it but it's not going to be easy. I ordered my gaskets from Amayama.com
The Intake Mani is easy. I took mine off and put a flow bench Ported one on in about 15mins or so.
When you have the Mani off a good thing to do is look and clean those Valves and Intake ports in there off of Carbon build up. If there has been no fuel cleaner and/or Intake cleaning that was performed as maintenance you will have some performance and efficiency robbing Carbon in there impleading flow.

I have the 2GR-FKS motor, but thanks. The part I ordered was 11213-31090 and 1121431070 off of ebay. Confirmed to fit my vehicle. In regards to spark plug seals, this does not come with it so I'll have to get a set of that too. I'm still sourcing the plugs, preferably all OEM.
