2016 GS 350 Hard Reset (Battery)
I tried a hard reset by unhooking the battery, yesterday for 30 mins. and today for 2 hours.
My question is,did it reset,if my radio presets didn't delete?
The pics I enclosed shows the navigation updated. But does that mean it did a hard reset too?
The threads I read ,said 100% of anything you had set or stored in the car will be deleted, radio, seats etc..The steering wheel was set the same too.
Thank you

So I take the battery off, wait for 30 mins,do what you said. Then what? After 6 seconds let go? Then start it normally?
And should the radio presets be deleted?
How do I know if it did a hard reset?
When you replace your battery, you should press the start button, but not the brake. You just want to let the car's systems initialize. You push the start again to get more of the systems on (again without pressing the brake). Your head unit will show that message of not shutting it off. You HAVE to let it finish before you think of starting the car.
If you start the car while it's still loading itself back up, you run the risk of the battery not being able to maintain enough voltage for a short time, and you will brick the head unit. This is why so many people have issues bricking their unit, because they don't wait. Think similar to getting a power outage when updating your motherboard's BIOS

The lights stayed on for a 10 minute drive. Then when I left ,and started it again, all of the lights are off.
This AM all lights are off still.
I noticed when I used to hit lock on the key fob,the mirrors would fold in.They didn't this morning.
You'll likely have to also reinitialize/relearn the windows for the auto down to work again. If the auto down doesn't work, you have to open them all the way down manually then close them all the way up manually. Similarly for your sunroof, it may not auto open with a single button push after the battery disconnect. There was a thread recently with the initialization procedure, if needed.

Today all of the dash lights are off. Is it because of the hard reset ?
Whats weird is,immediately after the reset, the lights came on immediately, as I started it. I took it on a 1 mile drive.Parked it.Took it on a 10 min drive, it jept flashing ABS/Collision, then i parked it .Then the last 2 drives ,NO dash lights?
