Dongar adapter taps a source that’s hot when car is off?
Does the Dongar adapter for our 4th gen GS tap a power source in the rearview mirror that’s hot even when the car is off? The rearview mirror dimming function I imagine is a cold power source when the car’s off, but the garage door buttons on the rearview mirror are hot when off. I’m thinking of installing one of the Blackvue LTE cameras with 10min of free live stream remote viewing.

Just be aware that the camera's constant 30 mA (0.03 amps) load in idle mode, while not terribly high, is going to be a constant drain on your battery.
Does the adapter connect with T-Taps, or grab power some other way. Either way, Yea, there is a constant hot, and switched on, along with ground within the wiring for the mirror.
At least for the post facelift, the red wire is constant, yellow is switched, and white (likely with black stripe) is ground. Since there isn't much room to tap, you can follow those wires down a little and tap the corresponding wires (the lower white circle). That is what I use for my Viofo hardwire kit which has a low voltage cutoff so it doesn't run down the battery.
