Does anyone know the order or have a diagram showing how to remove the interior trunk panels? They overlap each other quite a bit. Mine are not in there correctly and want to rectify this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Mine is a 2015 awd.
This is for a post facelift but should be similar.
Lift and remove the spare tire compartment door. Lift and remove the two compartment doors on either side of the spare.
Remove the plastic holder for the spare tire tools and one on the other side. The pull straight up.
You'll need a pick tool/small flathead to lift the little plastic cover for the metal latches. There's a 10mm bolt holding the latches down. There is also a black clip that just pops off. I circled 2 metal latches but there's 4.
Once you remove those, you can work on the trunk latch trim piece (shown removed in green). That is just 3 black clips that you take off, then it just pops up. I forget exactly what the red square is showing, but it could be another plastic piece you have to remove.
Remove the place where the net attaches to. You just squeeze it off. Then you remove another black clip.
Start working the quarter trims off. They should be loose by now. Be careful around the black trim around the left trunk arm to make sure you don't scratch it.
I don't have pictures of the other trims but most everything is held by various black push clips. The top trim piece has these two sliding clips as well. The only other thing would be the grocery hook and trunk light but I don't remember having issues with that that weren't readily apparent.
EDIT: Found some other pictures of different times when I was working in the back. In this one, it looks like you can remove the back part of the trim without removing the quarter panels.
And in this one, the right quarter panel is removed without having to remove the trunk latch trim.
So it seems there's multiple ways to skin the cat car.
