Windshield, headrest questions
I have a few random questions I figured I would compile into one thread.
The car is a 2013 GS 450h luxury and cold weather package, this relates to the specific questions I have.
1) I have a rather nasty rock hit in my front windshield, I believe the windshield is double-paned. Can this be repaired normally by Safelite or a similar company that uses the gel/vacuum technique?
2) I am trying to adjust to the headrest on on my seats to come more forward. It looks like they are designed to per the manual but it seems like they are fixed. I can move the bolster in and out, and the headrest up and down, but not forward (only by pressing the seat adjustment button).

Grab and push it back with plenty of force and then pull it forward.

I could be wrong on this one, but from what I’m remembering the luxury headrests on my 2013 did not move back and forward. However, they had sides that would “butterfly” or bend in to kind of cradle your head. On my 2017 which is non-lux, you can definitely move the headrest forward and back. It is a different headrest design from the Lux, as it does not have the butterfly.
Now that I look at the picture you posted, it shows the two different designs. Left pic is non-Lux, right pic is Lux. They show each one being adjusted in a different way, like I described.

You could try doing it yourself. Normally here in FL, insurance will ask if it's bigger than a quarter to see if they attempt repair or replace. Free either way, so not sure if the cost of a repair is that much more than a DIY kit.
But I wouldn't think double paned or not would matter as long as the crack is only in the top layer?
