@marjenmill sad to see you leave the GS family but that you're staying with Lexus! Congrats on the new IS500 - its essentially a modern IS F...i've watched reviews saying it has a more complacent ride making it a great daily driver.
Who care's about those details though right?? It's a 2024 model, its a Lexus and it has a Lexus V8! Enjoy!!
Thanks. I'm 6'2" and I fit in it fine. The seats are really comfortable too. It is a tad smaller than the GS, but not by much. Unless I went to a Mercedes E-class, the size is close to the GS, and I wanted another reliable car. The trunk is slightly smaller in the IS, but the rear seats fold down so I have no problem fitting in a couple bags of golf clubs (11.8 vs 14.1 cu ft).
Congrats! Nice move! Hope it fits you needs!
IS has too many compromises for me, the only gains to me over 2015 GS are TSS, Carplay and engine. To be clear I want the 5.0 so much, but
I would lose some features like 2nd row keyless entry, power fold mirrors, HUD, powered trunk, rear steering, adjustable seat side bolster and thigh extension, Climate concierge
Interestingly IS500 has the same transmission and brakes (to fsport GS350) and similar weight
Space wise its a compromise for riders. I have torso of a 6'5 person so I can't fit in the back period.
I am interested to move up to LS500 which covers all the GS features, faster 0-60 (alghough not nimble) with all the tech, highly praised 10 speed transmission and driver seat massage.
The con of LS is space, which is not a noticeable upgrade.

At 6'5" the LS will fit you better for sure. I test drove the LS and even the LC, but the LS was not for me...too big, soft riding and I don't need that much room, and the LC is beautiful, though was not as comfortable to me, no storage and was much more $$. The things I wish the IS had was HUD, power mirrors (though you can add them via Japan parts) and power trunk like I'm used to having, but they weren't deal breakers for me. That V8 tied with the 8 speed is perfect and man does it fly and sound great!
