Default "Engine Light On and Cruise Control Malfunction After Changing Spark Plug"

I changed all 6 spark plugs in my car, and it took longer than I expected. The driver side was tough due to tight wiring. I might have pulled too hard on the 3rd spark plug closest to the driver side. After some effort, I got it out, and the passenger side was easy. But now, I have an engine light on, and the cruise control isn't working. I got it scanned at AutoZone, and the error codes are P0023 and P0441. I checked the plugs, and they look fine. I think it's a wiring harness issue. I might have loosened or broken a wire somewhere.

P0023: Camshaft position "B" Actuator circuit/Opem (Bank 2)

P0441: Evaporative Emission control system incorrect purge flow

The 1st thing I can tell you is that the cruise control malfunction is related. Not the problem but is why it is malfunctioning.

1st check that your put all disconnected wires. plugs, and hoses back as they should be, tight and sealed.

I agree, that's what I'm thinking too. I'm not sure where the plug for the cruise control is located. Is it somewhere near the driver side harness?

IDK, but what I was saying is when you get a check engine related like that then the Cruise won't work. Not that something is wrong with the CC. Just go back and check everything you touched 1st.

Sure! No problem. Once I finish work, I'll retrace my steps and double-check everything.

P0023 appears to relate to the crankshaft timing control valve for bank 2, seemingly for the exhaust side. It is on the driver side.

On the ECM side, look at connector F3, pins 18 and 28. Those connect with the crankshaft timing oil control valve.

P0441 code is potentially related to the purge vsv, also on driver side.

Check the electrical connectors for both.

On the ECM side, connector F1 pin 17 connects with pin 2 of the purge vsv connector.

i'm just wondering if you connected the connectors to the correct components and whether the purge hose from the evap canister was plugged on to the purge valve or did you plug a pcv hose onto the purge valve.

Wow, this is incredibly well-explained and thorough. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to assist me. Your help means a lot! Initially, I mistook the last picture with F1-A19 as fuses, but now I understand they are actually the pins on the cable. It's crazy to see and learn about. With this knowledge, I have a better idea of what to look for. Hopefully, this will help fix the cruise control issue. I believe I may have accidentally loosened or damaged a cable somewhere.
