I'm still working with Curt, to prove that it doesn't fit our cars. Then we'll see what they say.

The brackets Lexus has, to hold the muffler, really seem to be overkill for what they do. I bet they could be modified without any adverse consequences. I'm only going to be carrying 120-150 lbs, including a hitch, rack & one or two 30 lb bikes.

I called several times and each time I somehow ended up speaking with the same guy. I think his name was Larry, or something like that. He asked about the measurements and I explained that I worked for Lexus and upgraded from an 08 to a 13 and there clearly was a difference.

You really have 30 lb Bikes? Mine weighs 18 lbs, and I would like a lighter one.

It's a hybrid. My goal is to work hard, not somuch about getting there fast. I do about 18-20 mph for 60-80 minutes per day.

I don't have a date when it will be ready, but Jon at Curt Mfg says that their Engineering Dept has a design for our car. He says it needs to go through testing and pricing still. He said he would send me an email when it's available. Here's his email if you want to be notified: jzahara@curtmfg.com

I may start making some calls to europe anyway, just to see if i can track down more information about the one being sold there.

You could purchase the curtis hitch for the 11-under GS take it to a machine shop and have them modify the end brackets. Because looking at the picture above it looks like its just a tad too narrow. A good fab shop or trailer shop should be able to make one for you or modify that hitch for you.

For the right side there is no clearance between the spare tire well and the exhaust bracket. They'll have to come up with a hitch with intergrated brackets.

You're probably right. There might be enough room, but a piece of that plastic tray beneath the spare tire would probably have to be cut. They claim they have a solution. I sent an email today, asking for an availability date.

Got a reply from Curt Mfg today, to my email requesting an update. They're estimating 4-6 weeks from now, as long as their product testing is successful.

I wonder if they'll let us trade in our wrong ones for the right ones?

I just sold mine to one of my techs for his IS for $60 bucks.

If anyone needs a bike rack, while waiting for the hitch, REI.com has Yakima and Thule on sale until Monday. I just bought one for almost $100 off.

I emailed them and they said part number 11372.

That diagram is incorrect for 2013. The passenger side bracket does not look like that, and neither does the heat shield. 11372 is the one they sold me and I had to return.
