Smile 2011 Lexus GS460 - Advice

Hey guys! I just bought my first Lexus and its kind of a rare one so I couldn't find a lot of information on it. Its a 2011 GS460 with 56,000 miles on it.
Any advice on general maintenance that needs to be done and things to look out for? Also where could I find aftermarket support/what are the best brands for aftermarket parts? I was looking at a tanabe exhaust but i'm not sure if its a great brand or not since I'm fairly new to cars and Lexus in general.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much.

Congrats! you're probable 1 of like 30 owners of a 2011 in the world.

Cons of this model:
1. Brake booster (expensive)
2. Rotors on 3gs seem to warp more often than usual
3. Front control arm bushings
4. Valley plate coolant leak (seem to be isolated so you may not have this issue).

Possible upgrades:
1. ISF TCU...makes trans shiftfaster and rev match on downshift
2. I would say to go with a true dual custom exhaust from a reputable shop
3. I did a DIY air intake and my butt said their was very noticeable improvements.
4. PPE headers (pricey and will make your car loud which may be a pro or con).

Not much aftermarket available for our cars.

thank you brother! i appreciate it. Yeah I want to make it loud but not extremely loud so i'm not sure about the PPE headers, but I will definitely try to upgrade to the ISF TCU+cold air intake and I'll also try to get that custom exhaust going. Any brands that I should look for when shopping around for the cold air intake? I just discovered that build thread so I'll try to keep you guys posted in there.

Youre welcome!. Yep the isf tcu is the easiest and one of the best upgrades for our car. Issue is finding one thats reasonable. I lucked out where person thought it was for an is350 and sold it to me for $50 lol. There are no cold air intakes for our cars. Some I think have bought ones from the ISF and molded it to fit, I make a custom one myself.

Congratulations!

The only advice I have is cosmetic. I suggest getting rid of all of those funky incandescent turn signals and replace them with crisp bright LEDs. It truly gives your car a newer more premium look when the turn signals are activated.

Factory 7440 bulb size front and rear.

And to prevent hyperflash I suggest swapping out the factory flasher module with one made specifically for LED lights. With this simple install you can avoid installing resistors along with the hyperflash.

Diode Dynamics actually has a better one called the “Smart Tap.”

It cancels the hyperflash while modernizing the turn signal stalk like new cars.

Rare year! Careful with intakes as they can make the car throw codes. Your biggest gains will be with a tune and the headers. Followed by gears. The ISF TCM is a great upgrade but dont pay more than 250 for one. Small mods do seem to go a good ways with these cars. Also as a lexus of course as mentioned the front lower control arm bushings are a nice upgrade. Also look up the GS460 group on FB! Look forward to seeing pictures of it!
