On dragtimes.com you can compare time slips of actual people.

GS350 best 1/4 mile time 14.110 99.6mph and slowest being 14.119 (not sure if rwd or awd)

GS460 best 1/4 mile time 13.910 103.1mph and slowest being 14.010

After doing some "youtube research" I found 2 videos, of a 460 vs 350 AWD at the same exact track, same elevation, same timing etc. Both list their mods! The Gs350 AWD beats the 460

detuned GS460 (a clublexus member) full exhaust minus headers, intake

GS350 AWD stock with a secondary cat delete

Personally I dont put stock into videos that arent professional as theres just too many variables. I mean hell my 2000 Eclipse GT 5spd beat a 99 Cobra. Despite being down 120hp. Is this common? Oh god no. I shouldve been destroyed. But I dont know what was going on with the Cobra.

The 4mph difference in traps says enough. Especially with the gearing difference. Theres no reason to choose a 350 over a 460 unless you need awd. Everything is better in the 460. Its as simple as that. Hell the torque alone is worth it. That 6 likes to be spun up a bit higher before finding any meat on the bone. The 8 doesnt.

And yes Ive driven a GS350 rwd.

From the fastest 460 the difference is 39 hp, the slowest 460 the difference is 17 hp to the GS350 then you have the weight disadvantage of the 460, v8 is heavier. These are not drag cars, they are daily cars, both are slow compared to a vette.

You can easily make that awd beat the 460 with a simple 75 wet shot of nitrous. That would be sick btw
I like how you conveniently leave out the massive torque difference of 65 lb-ft lol. The 86 pound difference in weight is minimal. Thats like 1 driver weighing 160 and the other 250.

Not to mention that the 322hp GS460 is actually the 1UR-FE which is a middle east market only. The rest of the world was the FSE. Also forgot about actual powerband differences.

The reason why that awd went so fast is more likely the driver stood on the throttle and loaded the convertor, before the run. Because its awd, it spun all 4 wheels giving a lot better 60 foot time. If you did that with a rwd then more likely you will just spin down the track.

You keep saying that. But I can dead hook. These arent powerful cars. You're not going to blow the tires completely off at the track unless it's like 40* out and you have summer tires. Or some absolute no name amazon trash tire.
And theres too many variables to account for to use the non professional racers video.

you're talking to actual owners though. I launch at 1900 rpm on the street with no issues. Im sure at a prepped drag strip I can launch over 2k rpm.

Exactly. I have to be absolutely stupid to get the car to break loose. And honestly on the new tires I doubt it will even then.

Also looking at the plate on the 460 it looks like it might have middle eastern plates. Which means 1ur-fe. Not 1ur-fse. So it's lower output.

So then its very likely that was the 1UR-FE which isnt a detuned version. But a different engine with less power than the 1UR-FSE thats used in the rest of the world.

It was indeed a detuned 1UR-FE rated at 322hp.
My S/C test runs before abandoning the project. I can tell you one thing, this engine is ready to breathe and is exceptionally outstanding in higher gears.

Hey Designo, long time we havent seen you! Hows everything hope all is well

Would have been cool if you still had that gs460 supercharged, I remember you had issue not being able to dyno tune it because at the time the ecu were locked and nobody was able to unlock them. But now guys are tuning them
