Check Headlight - 2008 GS350 RWD
Hi,
I have a 2008 GS 350 RWD. I recently got the headlight fasteners and control rods rebuilt as they were completely worn. Since I got them installed, every time I start to drive down the road, the check headlight message appears on the dash, as well as the ABS light. My mechanic could not find the issue and referred me to the LEXUS dealership, where they wanted to charge me $180.00/h to try and find the issue.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you get both headlights serviced or just one side?
I suspect that your HID low beam bulb is not secured.
As simple as it may sound, securing the low beam HID bulb in place with locking clip is no piece of cake.
Take a look at this video at 2:20 mark.
Open the bulb housing cover, and take a picture inside to ensure that HID bulb is locked in properly.
In fact, first ensure that all high and low beam bulbs are securely in place.

Just thought i’d mention. The driver side low beam burnt out 3 days ago. when i took it out it was locked in properly. i ordered a new set of bulbs and will be replacing both low beams once they arrive. i’m hoping that maybe the passenger side low beam is the problem, and after replacing both the bulbs and ensuring they’re clipped in properly that the code will disappear. if not then i’m out of luck at this point.
just another thing i thought i’d mention, usually the code for the ‘check headlight’ trips after you start driving for a second. i’m also still confused to why my mechanic is unable to read the code on the ABS light that’s on 🥲
