Default GS 460 brake bleed (no Techstream)

Just wanted this information out there as it’s extremely hard to find.

I had to replace REAR calipers, rotors and pads. I DO NOT have access to Techstream.

I found under the LS sections just one guy who did this and I tried his bleeding procedure and it worked with no check codes or malfunction notifications.

Mind you, the gs430, 460 and 450H have electronic actuator brakes like the Ls460

Bleeding Procedure:

After installing new caliper, rotors and pads…

make sure your battery is still connected but the engine and ignition is OFF. Start on rear passenger side brake.

have a second person slowly press down on the brake pedal and as they do that, open the bleeder valve. You’ll soon hear the actuator kick on… once you hear it kick on, tighten the bleeder and have them remove their foot quickly. Do this a few times until you see no more bubbles coming out.

do the exact same procedure on the driver side rear. Install wheels and go for a test drive. You should have no codes.

I hope this helps someone because it was incredibly hard to find this simple information out. I randomly saw one guy post on one thread. So many people said you absolutely have to have Techstream. Well im here to say that’s false.

thanks.

EDIT: full procedure below quoted from the LS460 page!

""Left front - Engine off, key off, brake down, open bleeder, close it when you hear that pump coming on. Used my wife to hit the pedal.

Right front- please disconnect battery. One man bleeder works fine here. Smooth bleedin' here!(Using the same method from left front triggered the abs error brake lights when the battery was connected. Maybe I held bleeder open too long. I reset using techstream. I think any abs scan tool would work though.)

Rears: battery connected, car off, one man bleeder ok. Slowly depress pedal, release when you hear the pump kick on. The battery has to be connected for the rears I have no clue why. Tried with battery disconnected and fluid was coming out of bleeder but reservoir wasn't falling. Once the battery was connected then everything got on track.""

Yes, but there is no Clear confirmation that an individual has completed this on their own with a GS460. I believe I am the first to post this.

In addtion this is the FULL procedure:

Left front - Engine off, key off, brake down, open bleeder, close it when you hear that pump coming on. Used my wife to hit the pedal.

Right front- please disconnect battery. One man bleeder works fine here. Smooth bleedin' here!(Using the same method from left front triggered the abs error brake lights when the battery was connected. Maybe I held bleeder open too long. I reset using techstream. thanks,
