Default Rear trunk strut replacement

When I bought the car couple of years ago, the OEM struts were already not working.
I ordered one from Amazon, and it totally didn't fit and had to return it.

Then I got another (ECCPP), and this also didn't fit naturally.
I had to move the trunk door up and down to get it to fit.
Well, after just 10K miles, one of the struts popped out of the ball joint.

This time, I got the BOXI brand, which was little bit more expensive than the ECCPP,
and it fit perfectly. We'll see if this will last longer than the ECCPP.

If you guys know of a reliable trunk struts for this car,
please let me know. Thanks,

Awesome, I need rear struts and front ones aswell. You might want to lube your hinges if you are having a hard time lifting the trunk

Surprisingly my 15 year old hood struts are still holding up, perhaps it's because trunk is opened far many more times than the hood.
That's a good idea on lubing the hinges. I'll do it.

One of the viewer to my channel replied that following Stabilus is what Lexus came with originally. Amazon says, it doesn't fit GS300/GS350, but I've seen that happen before.
If my current one craps out, this is the one I'll try.

Heres an article that may be true to what that poster claimed

Never heard of stabilus as a supplier for toyota, but by comparing the pics they do look similar. You can find stabilus on rockauto there only $14 each side. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...t=1404&jsn=392

Good info. I'll save the rockauto info.
I just don't trust these aftermarket struts will last a long time.
I'll give Stabilus a try on next failure.
