Default Rusty ring around rotors

Hi everyone I just installed a premium centric rotors with akebono proact pads front n rear yesterday, and I did notice there’s a gap where the brake pads sweep the rotors about 1/2inch front and 1/4inch gap in the rear is that normal to anyone? I’m going crazy since I picked centric over the OEM rotors just because the high carbon coating where the OEM doesn’t have! Are the OEM rotors smaller in diameter or something am I missing something or that’s normal ? I’m pretty sure eventually this ring will turn rusty very soon and will look so cheap !!! Any alternative brand I should be considered will fit exactly where the pads sweep the whole entire rotors? Any guidance will be appreciated ! Thanks

I think the oem is just painted in that area, but these centrics are not, thats why you are seeing it thicker.

You can easily paint it yourself with high heat paint, just remove the wheel, tape it up and spray the center. Its ok if you paint on the braking surface, as it will sand off a line for you when you brake. I would do this before they rust on you, just make sure to clean the surface.

This is normal. Most aftermarket rotors are made to fit to multiple models.
