2006 GS300 not starting. Whirring when engaging push button.
My 2006 GS300 is currently doing 98000 miles. Two weeks ago, I went home for lunch and parked in the driveway. After having lunch, and ready to leave, it never started. I'm getting a loud whirring when engaging push button. When I engage the push button again, it stops.
Battery seems good.
Any ideas what this might be?

If the battery is fully charged, then it sounds like a bad starter. You can buy used off a newer model lexus www.car-parts.com to search local junk yard. If you go new, denso brand is equivalent to oem. But pretty much oem starters last a long time.

Wrecked the car and sent it to the garage yesterday. Mechanic confirmed that it's the starter, but also said the battery went out not too long after it arrived. Battery has been in there for sometime now.
I did buy a reman starter from DensoProducts.com and shipped it in.
Let's see how the repairs go.
