Default Touch screen issue

I have a 2007 gs350. The touch screen responds on the map screen, but not on the other screens. Has anyone had this happen and is there a fix?

Sounds like your screen digitizer is dead, its a common issue. Many shops will do repairs and charge you a boat load of money for it. If you plan to do this yourself most common ones people buy are off an ebay seller that sells mostly to club lexus. His screens are $67 or $69. Certain elcheapo screens will give you a rainbow effect.

I replaced the screen myself and honestly it didnt take long at all and was pretty easy for me. The digitizer I used was from china, his product is the same as the ones the $69 seller except I only paid $30. I say the same because the ones he sells says HST on the ribbon cable and so does the one I purchased. It took me awhile to find a seller with that same product. Also if you decide on purchasing the screen email the guy and he will kindly run you a strip of double sided tape for free.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3293...5e8f4c4d5ZDmJ0 Also if you decide on purchasing the screen email the guy and he will kindly run you a strip of double sided tape for free. If he doesnt then you will need to purchase 4-5mm double sided 3m tape.

The screen repair is not perfect like oem, but its very good and accurate. The only issue that doesnt make it like original is that its a tad bit cloudier. Kind like putting a glass screen protector on your phone, at night its perfect but only when its really sunny is when you notice it.

To do the shop you first have to remove the entire unit, there are videos on how to remove it. Then you free the navigation from the rest of the rest of the unit. Remove the metal casing and carefully remove the ribbon cables. With a hot hair dryer or heat gun heat the original tape on the screen. While using plastic scrapers to pry the original screen, next you line up the new screen and button everything back up.

This video on youtube helped simply things for me. But it is for an IS but the GS is pretty close

Also after you complete everything, its best to do a calibration test on the settings. This will help you line everything back up, to make it more accurate.

never seen a completely white screen like that. Maybe your dvd player is bad or the actual whole unit could be bad. Maybe send off the unit to an electrical specialist that specializes in lexus navigations and have him test the unit. Or if you find a used unit off craigslist or ebay fb etc

Funny I saw this post as this happened to me the other day, the map is the only screen that works and it tracks to the bottom left regardless where you touch it. Did the method you used bring it back to original quality? I am talking to a family friend who is good with electronics and he said that he typically replaces toyota screen once or twice a month and he said that he would double check the connections but in his experience he typically replaces the head unit. Any thoughts?

You will need to replace the digitizer like I did. It's not hard just take your time.

When you say the map is the only thing that works, is maps. Nothing else displays? Have you tried pressing ac button on the sides, radio etc and does the screen change to that? Is it only the touch screen response that is not working? If so replace the screen, if you want to make a video of it and post it maybe we can help more.
