A/C stuck on cold
Hello. I have a 2008 GS350. I'm having issues with my AC here in South Georgia. The temperature outside is 95°. My AC does blow cold air. However, when it's too cold you try to adjust the temperature. And it blows out the same temperature all the way up to 85 degree on both passenger & driver. Either with dial zone on or off.. if I turn the AC button off,. . I get normal outside air..But, No matter what temp setting with AC, on. The car will only blow cold... To try and correct the issue, I replaced the thermostat, radiator cap & coolant temperature sensor, and still have the same issues. Is there a way to reset the climate control in the car. Or is there another issue?..
You can try to unplug the battery for awhile and see if that resets anything, because to me it sounds like its an electrical issue. Could be the AC temperature control module, or even the controls on the touch screen. But before you go throwing parts/money at it in hopes of getting it resolved. Pay a shop or a dealer to do diagnostics work, this way you can be for sure that is the issue.
I do not understand what happened... but this is what i did. Temp outside was about 90.. I turned the A/C off, then lowered the temperature settings as low as it would go [65].. With just the fresh air blowing.. After a few miles of sweating, i cut the A/C back on. It began to get cold. Then i pushed the temperature setting to about 78. Then the temp began to rise until i felt pleasant. It stayed that way for the rest of my drive, about 3hrs.. i do not know why i couldn't set it before, and i do not know what the problem was. But i DO KNOW, this past winter, i did not have a warm ride, while outside was 40, my car blew cool air.. i have no clue if turning it down, then back up has reset it.. hopefully, it was just a glitch.
