Warm air, compressor will not engage. I pumped down the system and attempted to recharge. Put in one pound of R134, compressor will not run. System should only hold 1.4.pounds according to the parts store. Pressures are low side 70 high side 50, keep in mind the compressor is not running. Any thoughts on next steps.
What was the reason for it to stop working? Did you change anything in the ac system?
When you drained the system down and then added freon at any time did the ac compressor kick on?
When he brought me the cat it was blowing warm. I did not change anything. Pressures were at zero. I pumped it down but did not change the receiver/dryer. As I added freon the compressor would not engage until I manually pressed the A/C button on the display, the compressor ran for 5 seconds then stopped. Each time I pressed the icon it would run, then stop. There is only one pound in the system.
Sounds like maybe the high pressure switch could be faulty. I found a video that may help you in testing the voltages. But you can also for testing purpose jump the electrical connection with a small wire or paper clip and that will trigger the compressor on.
Thank you for the quick response. I did a quick look for the high pressure switch and did not find it. I'll will put it back up on my lift next week when my son visits. Any idea where the switch is located?
