So my parking sensor got knocked out of my 2006 GS 430 (dent on the sensor, permanent damage), and instead of replacing it for $200+ from the dealer, I decided to roll the dice on the $30 ones you find on eBay. I've installed 2 already and they both show the same error of constantly thinking there is something there, touching it, when in actuality there is nothing.
Pluggin in is fine and no error/CEL's come up, so I think it's an isolated issue on the sensors. One I can understand, but two seems odd.
My question is: do these sensors need to be calibrated after install? or are all ebay ones doomed to be knockoffs?
The one i just received from ebay yesterday is worthless. It was advertised as fitting my 07 but the hole in the bumper for the sensor is much too big. This causes the sensor to want to fall in.Lesson learned,no more chinese parts for my car.
