Guys if you can try to avoid the 2006's, stick to 07-up GS350's. The 300's being the first year they have there issues, the 350's are more reliable.

2006 GS300 does not have a timing belt.

Recommended to replace strut mounts also since they are weak also.

Install catch can.
Inspect valve carbon deposits.
Buy some stuff in a can and spray it in the intake hoping it will help clean the valves. Another option is walnut blasting.
Check engine compression.
Replace spark plugs
Stock up on Wix filters from rock auto
Find a legit good oil and stick to it. I like redline oil.
Clean and lube the brakes. Upgrade front brakes to big ones from gs350.
Clean your radiator fins with water and flush the inside
Flush as much old stuff out. There is a thingy on the block to drain coolant near the exhaust manifolds.
Replace tranny fluid. Use original filter if you wanna change that. It's of much higher quality
Replace PCV valve.
Make sure all fuel , air, coolant lines are good.

Just open the hood toss those covers away and venture into the wonderful world of Lexus ownership
