Many thanks but you made a picture of the pumps main harness. I think I need to make a picture where that 2 pin plug harness is on the pump, then everyone can understand

First you see this oil sump

Then if you look up from there, straight then you can see the pump harness and that top harness where there should be a plug. I've got only left 1x red and 1x brown wire.

This is how I repaired mine right now. I cut off from the old pump plug 1x white and 1x brown wire. Beats me why from the pump plug there are 1x white and 1x brown but from the car harness there are 1x red and 1x brown. I connected brown-brown and red-white. I think that's how it should be.

Wait wait wait, that's next to the engine oil pan! O_O

I see no pump there

I'll take a look once I get home if the weather allows (thunderstorms).

Also, didn't the new pump come with the harness attached?

The pump has yet to arrive to me but the pump has his harness. That harness that I have made picture of is inside the car and it's the car harness side.

Well that's a nice location...

So from what I've gathered, this connection is right under the 5th cylinder's exhaust manifold opening. I need to get the car on a lift to be able to pop it open and check the wiring, the camera didn't see much there.

I'll search for some wiring diagrams.

By the way:

This site is incredibly useful. I've subscribed twice now for a month, there's a wealth of information inside if you're feeling like geeking out

Thank you all!

I swapped the pump yesterday. Put super seal 2 pin plugs on the pump and the car harness ans everything is working now.

Thank you.

If someone else is having this kind of a problem then it's a pita do diagnose.

Techstream showed and succesfully finished Auxiliary Oil Pump test on 500 and 1000 rpm. No problem whatsoever and that's why I decided to order transmission sensors and swap them. In reality my pump was bad.

So what I can tell you now:

1. If you start your car, let it idle for a little bit and it doesn't go to electric only, pump bad.
2. If you start your car, idle and it goes electric and put in REVERSE and car dies, throws up CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM etc, then pump is bad.
3. Bad pump may not throw any code, mine didn't because it was getting power and it was spinning somewhat around, but that wasn't good enough for the hybrid to work.
4. If you can drive it and it won't go over 75miles/h (130km/h), then the pump is bad. That is what my car did, it didn't allow any further.

In reality, Lexus dealer wouldn't made a better diagnose then. This is all of me, Googling what I could find.

I really hope that someone who has this kind of problem will get help and finish his/her car quickly.

Auxiliary Pump change is fairly easy. Oil + pump back on was about 1.5 hours for me. In total I think old pump out, old oil out and new ones in will make 2-3 hours tops.

Have a nice day.
