same problem on my 01 RX, key will turn I can see lock trying to open drivers door but lock will not open all the way . strange thing is that if I open passenger door with key the drivers door lock will open electronically like butter. I found that if I held the drivers door key all the way to open position and at the same time pulled the door handle the door opened. figure that out! BTW I did spray the drivers lock with wd-40 last night gonna let it sit for a few days before i take off panel and see whats up
I have this similar problem, it started when I plugged in an obd 2 scanner because I wanted to double check a tire sensor light that popped up and the previous owner told me it was because of the bigger 19” rims but I just bought the car off the marketplace and wanted to double check, everything was good on the obd2 no codes, so I unplugged it went to start up my car, for some reason it wouldn’t start, so I checked the battery and it was almost dead, then I went to open the car door and the door was locked. I ended up changing the car battery to an AGM and still wouldn’t let me unlock the door, so I thought I was the key fob so I changed the battery and still I couldn’t get in. I even tried using the manual key and it wouldn’t turn right or left so I put wd40 in and…still…nothing. Any ideas what it possibly could be?
I would grab a bottle of wd40 with a spray nozzle tip and shove into the key hole and spray it down. Then with the key push it in and out several times. You may just have a frozen tumbler and just needs to be loosened up.
